TEST SHOOT POLICIES

I’m so excited to do a test shoot with you! Below are my test shoot policies. Please read through them and let me know in advance of the shoot if you have any questions.

By agreeing to do an unpaid test shoot with Laurel Black, you agree to the following:

Time Commitment
Test shoots typically last ~4 hours, so please allow for that amount of time. If I feel like we need to go over that time, I will ask the team members if they can stay a bit longer to wrap up. (And if not, we'll end on time.)

Final Photos
For a beauty test shoot, I typically send out 6-7 final photos (~1-3 photos per look) within a few weeks of the shoot. I select the photos with my own artistic discretion. If I don’t think one of the looks we did worked out, I may not send out final images of that look (and will select additional images of the other looks).

If my schedule gets busy, I will inform you if it will take more than a few weeks to get the final photos sent to you.

Additional Photos
Because of the time/cost involved with the post work, if you want additional photos from the shoot, my policy is that you cover the cost of the retoucher’s fee ($39/image) for the additional images. 

Safety
If you are feeling sick or have any symptoms of flu, Covid, cat-scratch fever :) or anything contagious, please let me know as soon as you can so we can reschedule the shoot if needed. This photoshoot takes place in my home, so it’s important to me to keep everyone safe and healthy.

Fingernails
Fingernails are really important in beauty photography and it takes a lot extra time to retouch them if they don't look good in camera. Please come with either (1) a professional manicure in a neutral color that's super fresh with no chips, or (2) short false nails in a neutral color (and please bring the glue with you in case one of the nails falls off). Here are the types that will work (available online or at places like Walgreens):
Kiss Acrylic Nude - short
Kiss Bare - short
Kiss Latte Beige - short
Kiss Pink - short

What to Bring
Models — Please do your best to bring the items listed in the call sheet. I’ve worked hard to plan this shoot and it helps so much when you bring wardrobe and jewelry items that will allow us to capture the best images possible.

Dog-friendly
I have 2 dogs that may show up at some point during the shoot. If you are allergic to dogs, please let me know in advance of the shoot. 

Paid Test Shoots
If there is something specific you want to capture for your portfolio, I offer paid test shoots for models and MUAs. For paid tests, you design the moodboard and select all the final images from our shoot.
